The walk traverses cliff top and dense low coastal heath. It offers wildlife viewing opportunities and unobstructed viewing east, to Sentinel Rock and the 12 Apostles.  Look out for wildlife around dusk and dawn!

The Discovery Walk traverses cliff top and dense low coastal heath and offers wildlife viewing opportunities and unobstructed viewing east to Sentinel Rock and the 12 Apostles.  Look out for wildlife around dusk and dawn!

Time: 1.5 hrs

Access Information

  • Access via the new Port Campbell Suspension Bridge via a 2m wide sealed path which is suitable for prams and wheelchairs
  • The bridge spans Campbell’s Creek to a viewing platform and a 191 step staircase that flanks the western headland of Port Campbell, connecting to the Port Campbell Discovery Walk. Alternatively, you can access the Discovery Walk from the Port Campbell lookout area 2km west of Port Campbell
  • Steps and gradients make the Discovery Walk unsuitable for prams and wheelchairs
  • Access via steps near the mouth of Campbells’ Creek is currently closed
