除了十二门徒岩外，观赏海中石柱的最佳地点当属群岛湾 (Bay of Islands)。游客在这里可以近距离欣赏石灰岩石柱，连石灰岩被雨水侵蚀出的空隙都看得一清二楚。
群岛湾位于坎贝尔港国家公园西端，距离坎贝尔港 18 公里左右。这里也是大洋路由东向西从海边转向内陆的分界线。由此沿着大洋路西行，海边的灌木丛将被广大的奶牛牧场所取代 – 这里也是澳大利亚奶业最集中的地区。
