Peter (P.K) Kirkhouse
P.K`s interest in photography began as a teenager growing up on the west coast of Victoria. It wasn`t long before new places to explore and surf lured him further down the Great Ocean Road.
For the past 25 years P.K has been based in Port Campbell. He has also traveled around Australia and overseas always, with his camera at the ready.
Surfing is the main theme that runs through his life and his work. He has worked on several surf videos and independent projects. P.K is also heavily influenced by the natural environment and Aboriginal culture. He still spends a great deal of his time exploring the cliffs and tidal zones of the Southern Ocean.
His camera captures views of this ancient coast and these remain the same as those viewed by the "old blackfellas" who walked and sang up this country since the Dreaming began.
P.K`s works can be viewed by guests lucky enough to stay at his exclusive property Two Mile Bay House and Gallery.
Southern Ocean Dreaming
Is a collection of images gathered by P.K then blended with music from local artists into a contemporary story that takes us through Gatabanut, Peek Whurrong and Kirrae Whurrong country. portraying how the spirit of the land and the power of the Southern Ocean has formed this country into a place of awesome beauty that demands respect from the people lucky enough to live in or visit this area.
