The Gellibrand River can be an unpredictable beast in its lower reaches, sometimes snaking lazily through the wetland and on occasion lifting bridges and depositing them in nearby paddocks. One thing for certain; you won't be able to see the lane lines on the bottom, so head down in the brown and go, go, go for your team and glory!

Padhttp://www.visit12apostles.com.au/media/uploads/kk/Paddle.jpgdle (5.7km)

This is one of our less hilly legs! Let the river guide you gently through the reeds on the downstream run from Kangaroobie; duck the ducks and continue your adventure through the bends and underneath the Gellibrand River Bridge. Make your turn on the downstream side of the bridge before applying power to the paddle back upstream to the transition area and your screaming fans. Particpants can book kayak, PFD and paddle as part of the online registration process.

Say hello to your quadriceps because there's not much time before the uphill grind. We have gone for a course that favors the climbers but is not too technical for the rail trail and road brigade. Gravel road, farm paddock plenty of views to keep you grinning and a sweet section of downhill single track that returns you to the Old Ocean road. Hope you liked it and still have a little left in the tank because you get to do it all over again on your 2nd lap.

http://www.visit12apostles.com.au/media/uploads/kk/Run.jpgTrail Run (7 km)

Let's face it you won't be looking to thank us for this one. This is Adventure Racing and this very definitely is a trail run. Uphill, down dale through bush, swamp and prickly shrubs leave your bright new runners at home in the closet! This year we have added some adventure elements including a mudpit and obstacles. Get those legs pumping and bring it home to the finish line and a well earned rest.
