There are many beaches and trails along the Great Ocean Road for you and pooch to explore and enjoy whilst on holiday, with a few do's and don'ts to follow along the way!
The Good News
Dogs are permitted in areas of the Bay of Islands Coastal Park, 18km west of Port Campbell.
Dogs are permitted on a number of beautiful sandy beaches as long as they are on a leash. They are not permitted in certain areas because of the presence of threatened species including the Hooded Plover, Rufus Bristlebird and Southern Brown Bandicoot.
The Not so Good News
Domestic dogs are strictly prohibited in all areas of Port Campbell National Park, this includes the 12 Apostles. You may keep your dog in the car when in transit or in car parks.
It is not cool to leave dogs in hot cars. Please follow the advise of Parks Victoria, Corangamite Shire and the RSPCA and find other arrangements for your pet on hot days.
Information on Port Campbell - a large coastal village located just a few minutes drive form Loch Ard Gorge and the 12 Apostles. It is host to some fantastic dining experiences, shop and a beautiful protected beach and bay. Stay and see the sunset from the Jetty (there are so many sunset experiences in the area you'll have to stay a few nights!)

Information on Peterborough - nestled on the edge of the Bay of Islands Coastal Park on the Curdies River. A great base for exploring the coast, ocean or estuary fishing or even a round of golf (we thinks it's the best view from a golf course in the world!).
